Adult, Family, Parish, and Pastor Recognitions

Each year hundreds of Catholic youth earn their religious awards via programs administered by our committee and other adults throughout our Archdiocese.

Did you know that we also have awards for these dedicated adults? We do! Every year our committee acknowledges the time and dedication of these adults to our programs with a variety of awards.

Who nominates these wonderful adults and parishes for recognition?
YOU DO!
The nominations do not come from the committee, but from you, as an adult working with Catholic youth.

Please consider nominating adults, families, pastors, and parishes who make these programs happen for our youth. Our adults deserve recognition of their service, and we would love to properly congratulate them. 

Awards

All candidates must be of excellent character and exemplary in every way, and supported by parish and pastor.

2023-24 Nomination Deadline

March 15, 2024

Archbishop's Trophy

Presented to a parish that has offered outstanding opportunities to support Catholic youth both in their spiritual development and in their achievement of religious awards sponsored by the committee.

NOMINATE

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Medal*

Presented to affirm the work of those adults who have made significant contributions to the spiritual development of Catholic youth.

  • Minimum 3 years service to youth as an adult member of a youth organization
  • Minimum 3 years assistance to youth in completing NFCYM medal or patch programs

NOMINATE

St. Anne Medal*

Presented to affirm the work of those adults who have made significant contributions to the spiritual development of Catholic youth and who have also nurtured youth ministry by mentoring and supporting other adults who work with youth. This is the highest national recognition.

  • Minimum 7 years service to youth as an adult member of a youth organization
  • Minimum 3 years assistance to youth in completing NFCYM medal or patch programs or AHG Faith Awards
  • Nurtures Catholic youth ministry through developing adult leadership

NOMINATE

*Awarded by NFCYM

Award of Ruth

Presented to adult members of the committee in recognition of outstanding and inspirational leadership of other adults who further the spiritual development of Catholic youth.

  • Minimum 3 years assistance to youth in completing NFCYM medal or patch programs or AHG Faith Awards
  • Serves as a GHACCYO Mentor or Committee Member
  • Provides outstanding and inspirational leadership of women

NOMINATE

Outstanding Pastor Award

Presented to Pastors in recognition of their efforts to support the goals of the committee and for encouraging and supporting the advancement of Catholic youth recognitions.

  • Actively supports the presence of youth organization in the parish as part of an overall youth ministry program
  • Encourages youth participation in NFCYM award programs or AHG Faith Awards

NOMINATE

Family Award

Presented to families who have contributed many hours of service in support of the youth and the work of the committee.

  • More than one family member has shown dedicated support of GHACCYO activities for at least 3 years
  • Family is of good character and a true role model for other Catholic families

NOMINATE

Scroll of Honor

Presented to an adult who has actively assisted youth in completing NFCYM medal or patch programs or AHG Faith Awards for at least three years in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.

Appreciation Plaque

Presented to organizations and individuals for their continued support of the committee in their work with Catholic youth.

  • Supports the development of youth organizations serving Catholic members and the work of the GHACCYO
