Open to all American Heritage Girls registered members in the Tenderheart level. Non-Catholic AHG Tenderhearts may work on this award with special permission from the Archdiocese.

Deus et Familia Mea (God and My Family) guides Catholic Tenderhearts through an awareness of who they are as children of God in the family of the Catholic Church. Girls will learn about the Holy Mass, sacraments, traditions and history of the Catholic Church with fun, hands-on activities. Tenderhearts are encouraged to explore and perform works of charity for their families and neighbors.
The adult guide can be found in the God and My Family workbook (pages 3-5). Adult mentors must be GHACCYO trained. Parents working with their own children must work with a troop CFA mentor who has completed training through the GHACCYO.
There are 3 segments, each with 4 chapters to be completed:
There are typically 2 activities per chapter to complete. An adult mentor must sign at the completion of each chapter.
Don't forget! 4 signatures are needed on the application:
Age of Youth
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grade
1-2 months per segment (year)
Award Received At
Archdiocesan Ceremony OR Parish Ceremony
(pin only once all segments are complete - segment completion patches can be received at a Troop award ceremony)
