The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Catholic Committee for Youth Organizations presents

Launch Day

A day for youth in our archdiocese to kick-start their 2020-21 Catholic religious award programs.

New This Year

Due to the pandemic, Launch Day will be happening ONLINE this year. You will receive the link to join the appropriate Microsoft Teams meeting when you register.
AHG Catholic Faith Awards - brand new awards only for registered American Heritage Girls.
Adult training will not be offered during Launch Day. Check the website to find training options and sign up.

Program Books

Every youth needs to have their own program book for the award they are working on. It is recommended that youth have their books in time for Launch Day, though not necessary for all levels. Books can be purchased online.

Award Programs

Sign up each youth individually for the appropriate award program. Parents are encouraged to attend with their child.

NOTE: Parents/Adult Advisors/Mentors are required to attend the orientation portion with their youth for The Spirit Alive, Woman of Integrity, and Missio Dei.

K-1	God Is Love Activities covered: parts of Chapter 1 Supplies needed: white paper, pencil, crayons, markers, Nature Walk Worksheet. Program book recommended.
AHG Tenderheart	God and My Family - American Heritage Girls Only Activities covered: parts of Segment 1, Chapter 1 Supplies needed: Program book recommended.
2-3	Family of God Activities covered: parts of Chapter 1 Supplies needed: white paper, pencil, markers, scissors. Program book recommended.
4-5	I Live My Faith Activities covered: parts of Chapter 1 Supplies needed: white paper, pencil, markers, scissors. Program book recommended.
AHG Explorer	God and My Country - American Heritage Girls Only Activities covered: parts of Segment 1, Chapter 1 Supplies needed: pencil with eraser, colored pencils, paper, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Worksheet. Program book recommended.
6-8	Mary, The First Disciple Activities covered: Chapter 1 Supplies needed: Program book recommended.
AHG Pioneer	God and My Community - American Heritage Girls Only Activities covered: from Segment 1, Chapter 1 Supplies needed: Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, pen or pencil, and extra paper as needed. Program book highly recommended.
9-12	The Spirit Alive and Archbishop's Gold Activities covered: Orientation - Parent/Adult Advisor required to attend with youth Supplies needed: Program book highly recommended.
AHG Patriot	Woman of Integrity and Archbishop's Gold - American Heritage Girls Only Activities covered: Orientation - Parent/Mentor required to attend with youth, parts of Segment 1, Chapter 1 Supplies needed: catechism and journal. Program book highly recommended.
11-12	Missio and Archbishop's Gold Orientation - Parent/Adult Advisor required to attend with youth Supplies needed: Program book is required.
